...The music of each BURN song penetrates and expresses the human mind; centered within the inner individual and swelled to global profundity.

In 1988, just as a proliferation of "positive" and spiritual sub-genres began, BURN emerged from the NYC Hardcore scene as it's own unique incarnation, standing alone yet as one with it's varied and diversely integrated thrusts and insights - encompassing them all, yet limited by none.

BURN thus swiftly and vigorously blossomed into the essential NYC Hardcore band. In 1991 they released their self-titled EP on Revelation Records, selling in excess of 50,000 units of an EP that, to this day, is universally regarded as seminal and definitive.

In 1994 BURN dematerialized. Vocalist Chaka Malik formed Atlantic Recording Artist Orange 9mm, guitarist Gavin Van Vlack went on to Die116 and Pry, while immersing himself in a professional Thai Boxing career, and drummer Alan Cage took part in forging Island Recording Artist Quicksand. Between 1994 and 2000, the Members of BURN habitually magnetized to each other, even though not an official unit, and played several sold out shows with their peers.

In 2001, destiny manifest as BURN brought to life it's own reincarnation. Chaka, Gavin and Alan were joined by the thunderous vibrations of Vic DiCara, which had previously lit the six string skies of the legendary Hardcore bands Inside Out and 108 - and the low end boom of Manny Carrero, which most recently held it down for RoadRunner Recording Artist Glassjaw.

In July, BURN mightily took the stage and entered the studio with vehemence and sensitivity - emerging with a new 6 song EP on Equal Vision Records that will once again establish the definition and redefinition their genre starting November 13, 2001.

Or so the bio said... but soon after completing the very rushed EP, even before it's release, BURN once again disbanded...
